Visitor Parking

Visitors” are those who are neither students nor employees of the University or its affiliates who occasionally have a need to park on campus.

Visitor Parking Lots & Spaces

Visitors can park in any space in any lot or space except:

  • Service and Delivery (University vehicles and vendors)
  • Reserved Spaces (RD spaces, Dean, President, etc.)
  • Handicapped (unless a hangtag or plate is visible)
  • AMP Park Spaces (unless paid and registered for that space)

Visitor Permits

Visitors may obtain a permit online through the link above or directly from the Parking and Transportation Office located on the Statesboro and Armstrong campuses:

  • Statesboro: Dorman Dr, Statesboro, GA or
  • Savannah: 11935 Abercorn St, Savannah, GA or

Visitor permits are $2.00/day. A permit is not required for visitors who arrive on campus after 4:00 a.m. Friday and leave before 7:30 a.m. Monday.

Faculty, staff and students are not allowed to park in visitor spaces Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Departmental Permit Requests

Departments can request a departmental guest pass by contacting Parking and Transportation at 912-478-7275 or email to parking@georgiasouthern.edu.

  • Please have the email address of your visitor included when requesting.
  • The visitor will receive an email invitation to input their contact information, the vehicle description and license plate information, and claim the parking permit.
  • After completing the process, the assigned visitor will be issued an electronic pass. The registered license plate will serve as their pass.

AMP Parking Rules

Download the AMP Parking app on the or to park in AMP spaces. There are AMP signs in the designated lots. The signs do have QR codes that you may scan to download this app as well.

  • AMP is available starting at 8 am – 4 pm daily unless noted otherwise.
  • Download the AMP app, register your vehicle then follow the prompts.
  • Make sure your vehicle is registered every time you park in an AMP space. Please double check your license plate to make sure you’ve entered your plate in the app correctly or you will receive a citation.
  • Our LPR cars do not read the letter “O” but they will read the number zero “0”, so if your tag has the letter “O” replace it with the number zero.
  • Our LPR cars do not read the number “1” but will read the letter “I”, so if your tag has the number one replace it with the letter “I”.
  • When using AMP you must park in AMP spaces, the entire lot is not dedicated to AMP parking. Your vehicle must be facing the front of the AMP sign to where you can clearly read the AMP sign. Parking behind an AMP sign with an AMP permit is a violation.
  • You must have a permit within 10 mins of parking or you will be in violation.
  • Each hour costs $1, with a max of 4 hours in one day, per lot.
  • You can only purchase one AMP permit per lot per day. If you park in AMP sweetheart one day, you cannot park in AMP sweetheart again until the next day or you can go to a different AMP lot.
  • There will be AMP signs with QR codes you may scan in these lots to get an AMP permit.
  • Students and staff WHO DO NOT ALREADY OWN A PARKING PERMIT may also purchase a day pass. The rates are: $2/ per day for students or $1/ per day for faculty & staff.
